A Poem on the Wrong Track
By: Louis Phillips

One day last winter, A train caught cold.
It's a true story, or so I'm told.
For one entire month
It stood in the rain,
Coughing and sneezing,
An achoo,
an achoo,
an
achoo choo train.

The prayer we should pray most often is,
"Lord, please keep your arm
around my shoulder and your hand....
over my mouth!"

A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was,
the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove . . . but the
world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.

20 Bucks worth of Wisdom

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill.
In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started
going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me
do this."

He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up. He then asked, "Who still
wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air.

"Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the
ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up,
now all crumpled and dirty.

"Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter
what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in
value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled and ground into the dirt by
the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as
though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen,
you will never lose your value.

God loves you no matter what you have done, said, felt or thought. If we
seek His will in our lives, we will truly see how valuable we truly are in
His perfect plan for man.

BE GLAD YOUR NOSE IS ON YOUR FACE
By Jack Prelutsky

Be glad your nose is on your face,
not pasted on some other place,
for if it were where it is not,
you might dislike your nose a lot.

Imagine if your precious nose
were sandwiched in between your toes,
that clearly wouldn't be a treat,
for you'd be forced to smell your feet.

Your nose would be a source of dread
were it attached atop your head,
it soon would drive you to despair,
forever tickled by your hair.

Within your ear, your nose would be
an absolute catastrophe,
for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.

Your nose, instead, through thick & thin,
remains between your eyes & chin,
not pasted on some other place--
be glad your nose is on your face!

I am a CLOWN

I am a CLOWN, I have brought Joy.
I have lifted the pain in the hospital room,
I have closed the gap of outcast in the nursing home,
I have brought a twinkle in the eyes of a child:
I have made abandoned children smile;
I have walked down paths of fantasy and brought light to reality.

I have made the world my balloon.
I have become part of a child's memory.
I am a CLOWN, I am joy, I am Love,
I find good in everything I see.
I make old people young and children forever.
I am then, I am now, I am always;
I am a CLOWN.

LOOK AT THINGS AS THEY CAN BE.

You can capture your dreams if you reach out for them.
You have more possibilities then you can act upon.
Imagine the possibilities and your vision will expand.

You have powers you never dreamed of.
You can do things you never thought you could do.
There are no limitations in what you can do
except the limitations of your own mind.

Eliminate the impossible and whatever remains,
no matter how improbable..is possible.
You don't know what you can do until you try.
Life is wonderful because it gives you chances.
You have a fair chance to be as great as you want to be.
There are no limits to your possibilities.
You can live your dreams.

Eight Gifts that Do Not Cost A Cent
1) THE GIFT OF LISTENING...
But you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response. Just listening.

2) THE GIFT OF AFFECTION...
Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends.

3) THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER...
Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."

4) THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE...
It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet. A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a life.

5) THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT...
A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super job" or "That was a wonderful meal" can make someone's day.

6) THE GIFT OF A FAVOR...
Every day, go out of your way to do something kind.

7) THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE...
There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others.

8) THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION...
The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone, really it's not that hard to say, Hello or Thank You.
